What is stinger.exe?
stinger.exe is a legitimate process file popularly known as Standalone Antivirus Scanner used for detecting certain viruses. It belongs to McAfee Stinger and developed by McAfee Inc. It is located in C:\Program Files by default.
Malware programmers create files with virus scripts and name them after stinger.exe with an intention to spread virus on the internet.
