How to Remove the putty.exe virus from PC

What is putty.exe?

putty.exe is a legitimate file known for its SSH, Telnet and Rlogin Client processes. It is developed by PuTTY Tray, a terminal emulator website. Its location in a computer is C:\Program Files\Common Files by default. Malware programmers create files with malicious codes and name them after putty.exe in an attempt to spread virus on the internet.

How to check if your computer is infected with putty.exe malware?

If your PC is infected with putty.exe, you will either have your internet browser redirecting you involuntarily to irrelevant websites, or you will notice putty.exe using too much CPU space. Take the following steps to diagnose your PC for possible putty.exe malware attack:

Step 1: Simultaneously press CTRL+ALT+DEL keys to open Task Manager.

Step 2: If you notice the file located outside the file path C:\Program Files\Common Files, then you should run an antivirus scan to get ride of the malware.

How to remove the putty.exe file from system using Comodo Antivirus?
