What is aspnet_state.exe?

Originally developed by Microsoft, aspnet_state.exe is a legitimate file process also called as Microsoft ASP.NET State Server that is associated with Microsoft.NET Framework application.  It is located in C:\Program Files by default.

aspnet_state.exe virus is created when malware authors write virus files and name them after aspnet_state.exe with an aim to spread virus on the internet.
